Aspen Ridge Students Learn About Financial Responsibility

Today, fourth grade students at Aspen Ridge Elementary School had their first financial literacy lesson. TruNorth Credit Union sponsors the program, which uses real life scenarios to teach about budgeting and saving money.
Shae Kangas, a member advocate for TruNorth, says, “Banzai (the software) presents them with life scenarios, so they have to learn how to budget and put money into different jars for different areas of life; whether that be unexpected expenses or rent or a car payment. They kind of virtually walk through all the steps of life and learn how to spend money and save.”
Aspen Ridge is one of ten local schools TruNorth sponsors for the financial education program.
