Celebrating Future Financial Leaders: Banzai and Partners Award $10,000 in Scholarships to Students Nationwide
At Banzai, we believe financial literacy isn’t just a subject—it’s a foundation for lifelong confidence and independence. That’s why we launched the first-ever Banzai Life Literacy Scholarship: a national initiative to recognize students who are taking real, meaningful steps toward mastering their money.
This year, we awarded $10,000 in total scholarships to five outstanding high school students across the country. Each student received $2,000 to support their educational goals after completing at least two of Banzai’s real-life financial simulations and submitting a thoughtful essay on either the importance of financial literacy or how they plan to apply what they’ve learned.
“Every one of these students demonstrated initiative and a desire to learn the kinds of skills that matter most in adulthood—budgeting, saving, planning, and critical thinking.”
— Nikole Clayton, Director of Education at Banzai
These students’ essays were proof that early financial education makes a lasting impact. Many students shared how they’ve already started forming smart money habits—thinking critically about purchases, saving for the future, and making informed decisions in the face of everyday financial challenges.
A Few Standout Student Reflections
“The financial world is very real—it can shape a person’s entire life experience, for better or worse. Regardless of background, wealth, or circumstances, finance is a universal part of life,” said one student. They also shared how Banzai helped them grasp concepts like taxes and budgeting, and even impress their entrepreneur dad with their skills in the Stock Market Showdown.
“Learning about budgeting as it relates to credit cards and other forms of spending is one of the most valuable lessons I’ve taken away. Being more informed about finance has made me think about different aspects of life in a new way.”
“Although I originally felt nervous even handling money, financial literacy provided me with enough confidence to shop for myself and my family, set aside money for entertainment, and save for my future.”
“Before taking the course Advanced Budgeting, I saw budgeting as restrictive—but now I understand that budgeting is a tool that empowers financial freedom.”
“As I enter adulthood, financial independence is crucial to my success, and I am glad that I have already started preparing.”
“In the age of influencer marketing, I have learned to ‘de-influence’ myself. Understanding that not everything I see online is legit has helped me research products and compare options to make the best decision for me.”
Powered by Passionate Partners
This scholarship—and the daily work we do to teach financial literacy—wouldn’t be possible without our incredible partners: local banks and credit unions that sponsor Banzai programs in schools nationwide. Their commitment to real-world education creates life-changing opportunities for students.
Connex Credit Union, a longtime program Banzai partner and sponsor for one of the winning students, shared their thoughts:
“At Connex Credit Union, we believe that financial literacy is the foundation for building a strong, secure future. By supporting this student’s success through the Banzai scholarship, we aim to empower young people to make informed financial decisions… We hope to inspire the next generation of leaders who can confidently manage their finances and positively impact their communities.”
— Christina Outlaw, Community Development Specialist at Connex Credit Union
Purdue Federal Credit Union, who also sponsored a winning student, echoed that commitment:
“Whether they head to college or the workforce, understanding more than just the basics prepares students for future success. By sponsoring La Lumiere School with Banzai, we hope to inspire others to invest in financial education early.”
— Molly Milcarek, Community Relations Specialist at Purdue Federal CU
We’re proud to partner with organizations who believe, like we do, that financial education should be accessible, engaging, and rooted in real life.
Looking Ahead
The Banzai Life Literacy Scholarship is just one of the many ways we’re helping students take control of their financial futures—and it’s only the beginning.
“We believe in supporting students through practical, meaningful education. This scholarship is just one example of the incredible impact our partners make possible.”
— Jaron Glenn, Chief Operations Officer at Banzai
