First Source has offered educational programs directly to schools for many years, helping hundreds of teachers incorporate financial education into their classrooms. Thousands of students have benefited from these programs. Due to the success of the school program, and the dire need many people have to understand basic finance and budgeting, First Source is now offering the youth and adult programs to the general public at no cost.

“There is a growing need nationwide for financial education,” said Tom Neumann, President and CEO of First Source Federal Credit Union. “Currently we are seeing higher debt, lower savings, and lower financial awareness in general. One of the ways we can help is to make the education available and sponsor a program like this so our community doesn’t have to spend anything out of pocket to have this resource.”

You can access the program by going to fsource.org and clicking the Banzai link. All you need is a valid email address to get started. Once you log in you’ll have access to Banzai Junior (elementary), Banzai Teen (middle and high school), and Banzai Plus (Young Adult). Play in real world scenarios without having to use real money. Each game has a savings objective while experiencing the real challenges of balancing a budget. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure where each decision changes the way the game and your budget will go. You can play as many times as you like and if you log out mid-game you can log back in and start where you left off. There is also a library section stocked with a wealth of helpful finance-related articles.
