Northern Credit Union Offers Free Program to Teachers

The four-hour online program is broken up into several sections. These include a pretest, a variety of real life scenarios, a game, an a posttest.

Teachers are provided workbooks for all students, access to student accounts, and a support team, if needed. This program is used nationwide in over 14,000 schools.

Some of the real life scenarios include paying rent, repairing a car, saving for college, and unexpected medical expenses. The games provide a different experience for each student. To sign up for the free program, teachers can visit northern.teachbanzai.com.

Nicki Jo Travis-Colburn, teacher of the cosmetology program at Southwest Tech in Fowler, has used the program with her students for the past two years. She said, “I really like it. It’s computer-based and has lots of activities. Students learn about paying taxes and buying versus renting a house. The booklet has real life scenarios and the teacher’s edition has even more information.
